What you'll do

• Design and implement tools that admins and moderators will use to build communities for millions of Discord users.
• Pair with engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant, scalable, and high quality code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and product marketers to cut through ambiguity and build a compelling way forward.

What we look for

• You have 5+ years of experience as a full stack Software Engineer. Our tech stack is mainly React, TypeScript, and Python. You are comfortable building UIs, APIs, and services that scale.
• You have strong product sense and maintain a high bar for quality to deliver delightful product experiences.
• You understand the craft of software development and can level up those around you.
• You take a holistic approach to problem solving. You believe in solving a problem from first principles rather than simply shipping a solution. You learn from your mistakes and work through obstacles with the rest of the team.

Bonus Points

• Experience building safety and moderation tools.
• Experience with mobile app development.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000 to $204,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
