Job Title: DevOps Engineer

About the Role

As our DevOps Engineer, you’ll be the linchpin between development and operations. You’ll design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS, and enable fast, reliable delivery of our game services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Cloud Infrastructure:
• Own our multi-cloud architecture on Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
• Implement cloud-native patterns: autoscaling groups, serverless functions, managed Kubernetes (GKE/EKS).
• Lead cost-optimization and FinOps initiatives.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Define and maintain all infrastructure via Terraform or OpenTofu modules.
• Adopt GitOps workflows for policy-driven deployments.

• Container & Orchestration:
• Build, deploy, and troubleshoot container workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Work with service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and container security best practices.

• CI/CD & Automation:
• Design pipelines (TeamCity, preferred) that balance speed, reliability, and security scanning.
• Automate repetitive operations—provisioning, configuration, and application rollout.

• Observability & Reliability:
• Implement monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent stacks.
• Collaborate on SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, on-call rotations, postmortems.

• Systems Administration:
• Administer Linux (Ubuntu, Debian) and Windows Server environments.
• Optimize PostgreSQL clusters: performance tuning, backups, replication, and failover.

• Networking & DNS:
• Configure load balancers, VPC peering, VPC Service Controls (GCP), and Transit Gateway (AWS).
• Troubleshoot DNS (Route 53, Cloud DNS) and SSL/TLS certificates.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience:
• 3+ years managing production workloads on GCP and AWS.
• Hands-on with Terraform or OpenTofu in a team setting.

• Technical Skills:
• Strong Linux admin skills; comfortable with PowerShell or Windows Server.
• PostgreSQL proficiency: backup strategies, indexing, query optimization.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell to automate tasks.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Able to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience working cross-functionally: developers, QA, security, product.
• Ability to scale and deploy game servers.
• Experience keeping game servers live and operating.

Nice-to-Haves

• Kubernetes certification (CKA/CKAD) or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with configuration-management tools (Ansible, Chef).
• Knowledge of Zero Trust networking and PKI operations.
• Exposure to edge computing (Cloud Run on Anthos, AWS Lambda@Edge).
• Background in disaster recovery planning and chaos engineering.
• Experience with Whitebox testing + Blackbox testing
• Unreal Engine Experience
• Web Development / SQL / CSS / Javascript
