Buddy.ai is looking for an experienced HR Manager to build and nurture our high-performing remote team. You will play a crucial role in implementing effective HR strategies, managing recruitment processes, and fostering a positive company culture that aligns with Buddy.ai's goals and values. As our first dedicated HR professional, you'll have the opportunity to establish and shape our Human Resources department from the ground up.

Your mission
You’ll build and maintain a high-performing, engaged remote team by implementing effective HR strategies, managing recruitment processes, and fostering a positive company culture that aligns with Buddy.ai's goals and values.
Objectives & Outcomes
- Collaborate with hiring managers to recruit and onboard 20 high-quality team members using the A-method for hiring (with a focus on the game industry).
- Organize and execute 2 company-wide offsites and 6 top management offsites for our fully-remote team within the next 2 years.
- Maintain a structured onboarding and offboarding process that ensures smooth transitions for all team members.
- Establish a proactive system for monitoring team morale and implementing preventive actions to avoid burnout and conflicts.
- Implement an HR system for tracking candidates, team members, and performance reviews.
- Develop and execute engagement initiatives to measurably increase team satisfaction and retention rates.
Competencies
- Talent acquisition: Proficiency in sourcing, screening, and hiring top talent.
- Staff retention: Strong knowledge of HR best practices and current trends; ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures; experience in managing employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Event planning and logistics: Organizational skills in planning company offsites and events; the ability to manage logistics for remote team gatherings efficiently; a budget-conscious approach to event planning.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain relationships with team members at all levels.
- Psychological acumen: Understanding of human psychology and behavior in the workplace; ability to identify and address issues such as burnout, procrastination, and conflicts.
- Administrative management: Capability in creating and maintaining HR systems and databases; attention to detail in managing paperwork and documentation; the ability to streamline administrative processes.
Gameplay (Here’s what you will do)
- You will be the first and only person dedicated to Human Resources, establishing the HR department at Buddy.ai and implementing processes to recruit and retain talent.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to develop onboarding and offboarding processes, monitor team morale, and handle staff-related issues.
- Collaborate with team leads on hiring initiatives as the primary recruiter, sourcing and screening candidates for all job openings.
- Plan and execute two types of offsites: all-staff and management-only, ensuring logistics and participant experiences align with specific goals.
- Structure onboarding, offboarding, and all HR-related activities, training the team on these processes.
- Schedule one-on-one meetings with team members to assess morale and prevent potential issues, reporting significant matters to top management.
- Implement and manage HR systems to effectively track human resources issues.
- Create remote activities to engage team members in Buddy.ai's culture and foster a sense of belonging.
- Help the team grow, contributing to the company's maturation.
Position details
- Geography: Fully remote, based between Eastern Time Zone (New York, U.S.) and GMT+3 (Istanbul).
- Language: Must speak English. Russian is a plus.
- Remote position: 100% remote with 2-4 strategic offsite sessions per year.
