About the Role

As the Head of Performance Marketing, you will own the outcomes of over $10M in performance marketing spend. You will be responsible for developing and executing performance marketing strategies that drive user acquisition and re-engagement. You will coordinate and align the efforts of specialists in user acquisition, creative, content, and influencer marketing to drive significant return on investment. You will actively strategize and optimize our marketing campaigns and budgets in order to deliver a strong rate of return on marketing. You will also create a clear structure for how we understand and analyze return on investment in the fast-evolving mobile space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Return on Investment: You will own the performance marketing budget with a laser focus on ROI, ensuring that every dollar spent on marketing meets our return thresholds.

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive performance marketing strategies that align with overall business goals and drive measurable results.

  • User Acquisition: Oversee and optimize user acquisition campaigns across multiple channels (e.g., social media, ASO, re-engagement, content marketing, email marketing) to maximize ROI.

  • Creative & Content: Collaborate with our Creative team to run many creative experiments across multiple channels, with the goal of driving higher returns on marketing investment.

  • Data Analysis & Optimization: Use data-driven insights to continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize marketing performance. Implement experiments and other optimization techniques to improve campaign effectiveness.

  • Budget Management: Manage and allocate the performance marketing budget efficiently to ensure maximum return on investment.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, LiveOps, and Data Team, to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives.

  • Reporting: Provide regular performance reports to the CEO and other senior leaders, highlighting key metrics, insights, and recommendations for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in performance marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a diverse marketing team and reporting to the CEO or CMO.

  • Ownership mindset: you fully own the results of marketing spend and data.

  • Strategic thinking: you think big picture about how performance marketing fits into the broader organization, and you think about ROI from a high-level perspective.

  • Experience: proven track record in developing and executing successful performance marketing campaigns.

  • Data orientation: strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Dashboards & setup: experience in working with Engineering and Data Teams to build dashboards and set up Marketing Tech Tools

  • Varied channel experience: expertise in various digital marketing channels, ASO, social media, email, content, and influencer marketing.

  • Organized project management: strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Excellent communicator & clear thinker: exceptional communication skills - an ability to communicate thinking in a clear and structured way to C-level.

  • Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok, Notion etc.).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or other math or data-related field is preferred.
