Redemption Games, a small well-funded elite group of mobile gaming veterans, is looking for an experienced engineer to join our team and lead backend development. You will drive the strategy and execution of server authoritative features, including the delivery and deployment of live event configurations, admin tools and server support for new features in a new real-time PVP cross platform game. Our tech stack is built entirely on the Google Cloud Platform, and the ideal candidate will have experience with this technology.

In this role, you will

• Collaborate with designers, engineers and artists to implement game features
• Design the technical architecture and approach to expanding the game’s systems and content
• Write well-designed, efficient, and well-tested code for backend services
• Iterate rapidly and respond well to constructive feedback from peers
• Help establish best practices for game system implementation and workflows
• Work with other engineers in planning, conducting code reviews, and ongoing improvements to the backend infrastructure
• Maintain regularly deployed and reliable services for a high DAU game
• Work comfortably within an agile and distributed team environment

We are looking for

• In-depth experience with Google Cloud, NodeJS and JavaScript/Typescript
• Experience with Cloud Run, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions or Firebase equivalent
• Experience shipping games and large scale applications
• Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing backend services for mobile applications (iOS/Android)
