Product Designer - Visual Craft & AI

Have you made something beautiful because you wanted it to exist?
Maybe you’ve built a small creative tool. Made an interface behave in a way we haven’t seen before. Used AI to turn an idea into something people can actually play with.
You’ve got a strong eye, ideas of your own and work to show for it. You might not have held a product design job yet.
We’re looking for a designer with exceptional visual craft, ideas of their own and the AI skills to turn them into working experiences. We’d like to see what you’re making.
Make things for people who make things.
At Envato, we’re building tools that help creative professionals find, generate and refine assets for their projects. We want those tools to feel as creative and considered as the work people make with them.
We’re looking for someone with fresh ideas who brings excellent visual craft and is already using AI to explore and build. You could be coming from uni, independent projects, freelance work or another creative discipline. We’re not fussed about your current job title or background, but what we do care about is raw design talent who can bring something different to the team.
What you could get your hands on
- You might prototype how a filmmaker saves a character reference and uses it across different shots. Explore how arranging and playing video clips could help someone see a story coming together. Or use motion, imagery and interaction to make an AI capability easier to understand and more enjoyable to use.
- You’ll bring different approaches, make them interactive and try them with the team and customers. Then you’ll help develop the promising ones into experiences people can use.
- This is work on the core product, not a separate collection of experiments that never makes it into customers’ hands. This work matters.
Bring your eye. Build your product experience.
- We want to see care in the typography, composition, hierarchy, motion and interaction. We’re interested in how you direct and work with AI.
- You should be curious about the person using what you’ve made, willing to share unfinished work, test things in the wild and able to change your approach when you learn something.
- You’ll work alongside experienced designers and engineers, with support on framing problems, testing ideas and getting work into the product. You won’t be expected to independently lead a whole product area from day one, but you will have real work to own, feedback to help you develop it and the opportunity to contribute things we haven’t yet thought of
Show us what you’re making.
To be considered, send us something you’ve built using AI, a finished product, prototype, website or interactive tool, and something that shows your visual craft. They can be the same project. Uni work, client work and independent experiments are all welcome.
