Starform is the creator of Metalstorm, a fast-paced, action-filled, free-to-play air combat game with a growing global community. At Starform, we’re on a mission to create games that players love forever—and our thriving Metalstorm community is at the heart of that journey. We’re looking for a passionate Community Manager to serve as the vital bridge between our players and our development team.
In this high-ownership role, you will own our presence on Discord and Reddit, lead player-facing communications, and develop engaging livestream and event programming. You'll be translating player sentiment into meaningful product action that directly shapes the game. What You'll Do
- Frequently engage with the Metalstorm Community across Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, and other Metalstorm socials, interacting often with community members to drive positive sentiment, healthy discourse, and high engagement.
- Share regular community insights and sentiment reporting, translating all player profiles and community feedback into actionable recommendations for the development team.
- Represent the studio and developers by translating product decisions, features, and technical work into clear and engaging player communications in the forms of patch notes, game updates, announcements, and community posts.
- Own and manage our Discord and Reddit presence, including building moderator and creator relationships, posting and commenting, and upholding community behavior guidelines.
- Plan and execute regular community events such as tournaments, game nights, watch parties, livestreams, and AMAs to drive positive sentiment and community engagement.
- Develop and execute a livestream strategy, including a regular streaming calendar and appearing on camera as a representative of the studio.
- Manage and grow our content creator program and creator relationships. Support community-generated content initiatives and creator engagement through livestream clips and player highlights.
- Partner with Customer Support and Development teams to triage, address, and resolve community-reported bugs and live-service incidents.
- Assist creative team in scripting videos for regular game updates and dev behind-the-scenes content.
- Stay current on community management tools, trends, and best practices.
- Leverage AI tools to increase the quality and frequency of all the above.
What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with Discord, Reddit, and modern community platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to synthesize large volumes of feedback into clear insights and recommendations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with development, support, marketing, and product teams.
- Comfortable appearing on camera and engaging with players through livestreams, videos, and community events.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Resilience in the face of online and anonymous communities.
Nice to Have
- Experience managing gaming communities.
