Vermut is a community marketplace of unique experiences for older adults. Our vision is to disrupt how people retire, fighting the misconception society has about what older generation folks want.
The market is huge and no one is paying attention to creating an overall solution for the pains and desires of our seniors. We are building ‘the place to be for seniors’. The company was set up at the end of 2020, and we’ve already proven market fit in Spain and we are planning to double down to Spain and Europe, scaling fast and building from the bottom-up.
Engineering Team:
Engineering at Vermut is one of the core teams which is responsible for building products that help older adults connect with each other in more ways than one. Building for the elder generation of users is different from building for normal users. That’s why we are looking for people with empathy to understand the challenges seniors face when using technology. We are hugely biased towards quickly building MVP solutions before implementing full-blown features. This allows us to quickly learn from user feedback.
Our primary development stack is based on React Native, PHP, Jquery sprinkled with Vue and MYSQL. Most of us have a primary area of expertise, but we all work across the entire stack to some degree.
For infrastructure, we primarily use Digital Ocean, and leverage Forge for deployment and management.

About your new job responsibilities :
Perform effective manual testing to ensure the product’s stability and performance
Exploratory testing
Create test designs, test cases, and test data
Evaluate the efficiency of existing QA processes and recommend improvements
Report defects, define severity and priority
Designing testing scenarios for usability testing
Prepare reports related to software testing carried out
Review and contribute to the test plans
Analyze, review and assess requirements and design specifications
Work closely with the Dev Team
What Makes You A Great Fit / Skills :
Minimum of 1-year experience as a Software Quality Assurance
A clear understanding of the testing methodology
Experience with debugging through browser developer tools
Ability to report defects and document clearly
Problem-solving and result-driven
End-user empathy and understanding of the business strategy
You’ve got extra points if :
Good understanding of Internet concepts (HTTP Requests and Responses, Cookies, Local Storage, General understanding of HTML and CSS)
Experience with Postman
Experience in API testing
Experience in mobile app testing
